Rick and I took a long needed mini road trip today. We haven't done anything for ourselves in months. We took off south and wound up in Texas City. While trying to find a place to eat we came upon this rock house. It's was just so beautiful.
We found food, got it to go and came to this park to eat. Luckily the dike is just over the levy in the picture below.
It costs $5.00 per car per day. We saw families camped out for the day with their poles, bbq's and shade tents.
There was a local sailboat club having a fun day. I love their colorful sails. The south side is all rock but the north side has pockets of beaches like below where you can play in the water. The currents are very strong so I would make sure everyone was wearing a life jacket.
This was the biggest boat ramp. We haven't launched a boat at a Marina in recent years but $5.00 has got to be the cheapest rate around.
I couldn't wrap up without sharing some of our Texas wildflowers. They are everywhere and so beautiful. Lots of different kinds with so many colors.
Thanks for stopping by.
