Blue Monday

And just like weekends being short, next we have Monday in our face again. Yet, I am thankful for my job and my husband's. We have our home and can take care of our pets. That may sound silly but all of our pets are rescue animals. They have been hungry and some have been abused. It's important to us to provide a certain stability for them.
I worry that people are starting to forget the last few years. Forgetting that a large group of people are still with out jobs, homes, etc. How will this unstable time affect the kids growing up in it now? The ones going without proper food, watching their parents struggle, and not having the security of a home. I can only pray that it makes them stronger. Sorry, I guess it truly is a "blue" Monday.

This is my big girl Ruby from Hurricane Ike. She came with Lil Bit and was scared of men. She appeared to have been mistreated by men and is still shy in certain situations. She had been with us 2 years before Jack. She is a sweet animal but didn't know how to play. We tried and she just didn't seem to understand. And then came Jack.

This picture is when he first arrived and was around 4-6 weeks old. That abrasion you see has a duplicate on the other side. The vet guessed that he may have been thrown from a car. On top of that he had mange, worms, and ear mites. He was given a 60% chance. I'm happy to tell you that he is fine, attitude and all, and has taught Ruby to play, a little. Can you imagine tossing a baby or puppy out the window, "for fun"?
Our girls take care of Jack while we are at work. I'll introduce you to Lucky and Daisy in another post. They are our other rescue dogs that my Dad has graciously allowed to live at his house.
